The Nea Paralia waterfront promenade is long, flat and stroller-perfect, running for several kilometres past the White Tower and public parks. The old town (Ano Poli) up the hill is steep and cobbled, so it's worth tackling with a carrier rather than wheels.

🍽️Food & Eating

Thessaloniki is Greece's food capital and very relaxed about children, with tavernas around Ladadika and the waterfront happy to bring extra plates for sharing. Bougatsa (custard pastry) shops and street food stalls are an easy, cheap way to feed a toddler between sights.

🛡️Safety

Thessaloniki is a safe, walkable city with low violent crime, though normal city caution around pickpockets in crowded areas applies. Tap water is safe to drink. Summer heat is the main thing to plan around, since July and August afternoons can be intense for young children.

🏥Hospitals

Ippokrateio General Hospital and AHEPA University Hospital both handle emergencies and have pediatric departments, though English is more limited than in Athens. Pharmacies are widespread and pharmacists often speak some English. It's worth carrying a translation app for anything beyond routine needs.
