🚼Pram
Vienna is one of Europe's most pram-friendly cities: the U-Bahn (subway) has lifts everywhere, pavements are wide and smooth, and the Ringstrasse boulevard and Prater park are perfect for long pram walks. The tram network also accommodates prams at dedicated spaces.
🍽️Food & Eating
Vienna has an excellent cafe culture and is very family-welcoming. Schnitzel, pasta, and pastries (Sachertorte!) are universally loved by toddlers. The Naschmarkt has great snack options and Prater has multiple family restaurants. High chairs are standard at most restaurants.
🛡️Safety
Consistently one of the world's most liveable and safest cities. Crime is very rare. The main caution is the Danube Canal and riverbanks: keep young children well back from unfenced edges. Cold winters (November–February) require proper layering for babies.
🏥Hospitals
St. Anna Kinderspital is one of Europe's oldest and most respected children's hospitals. AKH Wien (Vienna General Hospital) has a large paediatric emergency department. The Rudolfinerhaus private clinic has English-speaking staff and handles international patients.
