Pula's Roman Arena and old town streets are cobbled but generally flatter and less crowded than Split's, making a stroller manageable if you take it slow. The town is small and walkable, and the promenade toward the marina is smooth and pram-friendly. Nearby beaches at Verudela are a short drive and mostly easy, shallow entry for toddlers.

🍽️Food & Eating

Pula is quieter and less touristy than Croatia's bigger coastal cities, and family-run konobas are generally relaxed about kids, though don't expect a formal kids' menu everywhere. Pizza and simple grilled fish are reliable, easy orders. The local market near the Arena is good for fresh fruit and snacks.

🛡️Safety

A relaxed, low-crime town with none of the peak-season crowding of Dubrovnik or Split's old town. Tap water is safe to drink. Summer heat is the main consideration for toddlers, so a shoulder-season visit in May, June or September is more comfortable.

🏥Hospitals

General Hospital Pula (Opca bolnica Pula) handles emergencies and has pediatric care, though English proficiency among staff is more variable than in bigger Croatian cities. Pharmacies are easy to find in the town centre near the Arena.
