Parent Tips

🚼Pram

Copenhagen is consistently rated among Europe's most pram-friendly cities. Flat terrain, wide dedicated pedestrian streets, and excellent metro accessibility make navigating with a pram genuinely easy. Tivoli Gardens and the harbour area are perfect for families. Bring a rain cover: the weather is unpredictable.

🍽️Food & Eating

Danish food culture is very family-friendly. Open sandwiches (smørrebrød) are perfect toddler fare and most cafés and restaurants have children's menus. The city's excellent bakeries mean there's always a pastry available for bribery purposes. High chairs are standard everywhere.

🛡️Safety

One of the safest capitals in Europe with extremely low crime. Cycling infrastructure is dense: always hold children's hands near bike lanes which are separate from footpaths and move very fast. Cold weather from October to April requires proper winter gear for babies.

🏥Hospitals

Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) is a world-class facility with excellent paediatric care. Denmark's public healthcare system provides emergency treatment to all visitors. Most doctors speak excellent English.
