Every destination is scored out of 100 on seven categories that matter when you're travelling with a baby or toddler. Each category is scored independently, and the overall score you see on a destination page is the plain average of the seven, with no hidden weighting.
Pram Access
Footpath quality, lifts vs stairs, public transport accessibility.
Hospitals Nearby
Proximity to paediatric care, English-speaking doctors, emergency access.
Kid Activities
Parks, playgrounds, museums, and other family attractions.
Safety
Crime, traffic, and general vibe for families with young children.
Eating Out
High chairs, kid-friendly menus, allergy awareness.
Flight Ease
How manageable the flight is with a baby or toddler.
Family Stays
Cots, family rooms, kitchenettes, laundry access.
Category scores are set by us based on published local information (transport authorities, hospital directories, safety data) and, where we've travelled somewhere ourselves, our own experience. The daily cost estimate assumes two adults and one toddler, a mid-range self-catering apartment or family hotel room, and one paid activity per day. It excludes flights.
We're working through the full list rewriting each destination's guide with named, checkable specifics instead of generic claims. If you spot something on a destination page that looks wrong or too vague, we'd rather know about it than leave it up.
