Tainan is Taiwan's food capital, and dishes like danzai noodles, milkfish soup, and coffin bread are mild and easy for toddlers to eat. Look for family-run shops with low tables and bring your own spoon, since many dishes are served shared-style rather than in individual portions.

Tainan feels relaxed and safe, with slower traffic than Taipei or Kaohsiung. Scooters still weave through night markets, so keep young children close and within reach at busy spots like Huayuan or Wusheng night market.
