Sayulita's sandy, cobblestone streets are genuinely difficult for wheels, a carrier is far more practical than a stroller here. Punta Mita's resort properties are the exception, with smooth paths and golf-cart transport. Expect to carry kids over uneven ground more than in bigger resort towns.

🍽️Food & Eating

Sayulita's beachfront restaurants are laid-back and welcoming to kids, with fresh fish and simple Mexican staples on most menus. Punta Mita resorts run full kids' clubs and menus. Small local abarrotes (corner stores) are handy for snacks and bottled water between meals.

🛡️Safety

This stretch of Nayarit is generally calm and popular with expat families, though Sayulita's surf can have strong currents that catch swimmers off guard. Roads between towns are winding and best driven in daylight. Stick to bottled water outside resort properties.

🏥Hospitals

Local clinics in Sayulita handle minor issues, but anything serious means a drive to hospitals in Puerto Vallarta (about 45 minutes to an hour), such as Amerimed or CMQ. It's worth confirming your resort's nearest clinic and having travel insurance that covers transfer to PV.
