πΌPram
Queenstown's compact town centre is relatively flat and pram-friendly. The lakefront walkways are excellent. The Skyline gondola and most nature activities in the surrounding area require a carrier: it's an adventure destination at heart.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Queenstown has a surprisingly good restaurant and cafe scene for its size. The Remarkables Market, lakefront cafes, and the Beach Street area all have family-welcoming dining. High chairs are common and staff are used to families year-round.
π‘οΈSafety
Extremely safe with near-zero crime. The adventure sports culture (bungee jumping, skydiving) is obviously not relevant for toddlers but the lake and fast-moving rivers require supervision. Winter driving on mountain roads requires chains: always check road conditions.
π₯Hospitals
Queenstown's Lakes District Hospital is the main facility but has limited specialist capability: serious paediatric cases are evacuated to Dunedin Hospital or Christchurch. Comprehensive travel insurance is important given the remoteness.
