🚼Pram
Muscat's Royal Opera House plaza, Muttrah Corniche, and the large malls are excellent flat pram territory. The Muttrah Souk has uneven surfaces requiring a carrier. Most beach hotel resorts have perfectly flat grounds for pram use.
🍽️Food & Eating
Muscat has a relaxed and welcoming attitude toward families. Omani food (shuwa slow-cooked lamb, dates, fresh bread) is excellent and mild. The malls and hotel restaurants provide full international menus. Arabic hospitality means children are welcomed everywhere with genuine warmth.
🛡️Safety
Oman is one of the safest countries in the world. The intense summer heat (June–September, 45C+) makes outdoor activities with young children impossible: visit only in the cooler months. Wadi excursions require extreme caution near flash flood areas.
🏥Hospitals
The private Royal Hospital and Muscat Private Hospital have English-speaking staff and solid emergency capability. The Sultan Qaboos University Hospital handles complex cases. Most doctors speak good English and the standard of care is good for the region.
