This is a rural wine region reached by car, with the town centre itself small and walkable on flat, paved footpaths. Many wineries and cellar doors have grassy grounds that are fine for a stroller but easier with all terrain wheels, and cave attractions like Mammoth Cave involve stairs unsuitable for strollers.

🍽️Food & Eating

Margaret River punches well above its weight for food, and most winery restaurants and cellar doors welcome families with high chairs and kids' menus, especially at lunch. Casual bakeries and cafes in town are easy fallback options for fussy toddlers.

🛡️Safety

A very safe, low crime rural area. Beaches here are popular with surfers but can have strong currents and are not always patrolled, so stick to patrolled swimming spots like Gnarabup Beach with young children rather than the open surf breaks.

Margaret River Hospital provides local emergency care, with Bunbury Hospital (about an hour away) and Perth further afield for more serious needs. Pharmacies are available in the town centre for everyday medicine.
