Miraflores and Barranco are Lima's most stroller friendly districts, with the clifftop Malecon path offering miles of flat, paved walkway with ocean views. Older downtown Lima has more uneven cobblestones and crowded pavements, so a compact stroller or carrier works better there. Ubers are cheap and plentiful for covering longer distances between neighborhoods.

🍽️Food & Eating

Lima is a genuine food capital, and family chains like Norky's and Pardos Chicken serve rotisserie chicken with fries that toddlers reliably eat, alongside high chairs and quick service. Ceviche restaurants (cevicherias) are everywhere for the adults, and most offer milder rice or chicken dishes for kids. Tap water isn't safe to drink, so stick to bottled water even for mixing formula.

🛡️Safety

Miraflores, San Isidro, and Barranco are safe, well-patrolled tourist areas suitable for family strolls, including at night. Petty theft (phone snatching, bag slashing) is the main risk, more common downtown and on public buses, so keep valuables secure. Lima's coastal fog (garua) keeps things cool and overcast for much of the year outside the Dec to Apr summer.

🏥Hospitals

Clinica Anglo Americana and Clinica Ricardo Palma both have English-speaking doctors and strong reputations for treating international visitors, including children. Pharmacies (Inkafarma, Mifarma) are on nearly every corner and stock standard pediatric medicines. Altitude isn't a concern in Lima itself since it's at sea level, unlike much of the rest of Peru.
