🚼Stroller
Istanbul's historic districts (Sultanahmet, Beyoglu) have steep hills, cobblestones, and narrow alleys that make strollers extremely difficult. The Bosphorus waterfront promenades and Kadikoy market area are flatter. A carrier is essential for temple and bazaar visits.
🍽️Food & Eating
Turkish culture loves children enthusiastically — you'll be offered tea and sweets for your toddler constantly. Pide (flatbread), köfte meatballs, fresh bread, and Turkish mezze are all excellent for young children. Restaurant staff will genuinely fuss over your baby.
🛡️Safety
Generally safe for tourists in the main districts. Petty theft around Sultanahmet and the Grand Bazaar requires vigilance. Always use the official taxi app (BiTaksi or Uber) rather than street taxis. E-visa required — apply at least 48 hours in advance.
🏥Hospitals
American Hospital Istanbul (Amerikan Hastanesi) in Nişantaşı is the top English-language private option widely used by expatriates. Acibadem Hospital has multiple locations and English-speaking paediatric departments throughout the city.
