Parent Tips

🚼Pram

Al Qasba and the Al Majaz Waterfront both have long, flat, stroller-friendly promenades with shaded rest spots. Sharjah's museum district (Heritage Area) is also pedestrianized and easy to push a stroller through.

🍽️Food & Eating

Sharjah is a dry emirate (no alcohol), which in practice means a very calm, family-oriented restaurant scene with plenty of high chairs and kids' menus, especially around Al Majaz and the Blue Souq. Supermarkets like Carrefour stock the full range of international baby brands.

πŸ›‘οΈSafety

Sharjah is one of the safest, most conservative emirates, popular with families precisely because it's quieter than Dubai. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) is expected, including for children in non-beach areas, and this is enforced more visibly than in Dubai.

πŸ₯Hospitals

University Hospital Sharjah and Al Qasimi Hospital both offer solid pediatric care with English-speaking staff. Zulekha Hospital is another reliable private option used by expat families.
