Most overwater bungalow resorts are boat-access only, so a stroller is dead weight once you arrive. Pack a lightweight carrier for lagoon walks and pontoon transfers instead. The main village, Vaitape, has basic pavements but nothing like a stroller-friendly promenade.

🍽️Food & Eating

Resort restaurants are used to young families and can usually arrange plain pasta, rice, or grilled fish for toddlers, but a la carte dining is expensive island-wide since almost everything is imported. Stock up on snacks, formula, and baby food at the Vaitape supermarket (Chin Lee or Pofai) rather than relying on resort minibars.

🛡️Safety

Bora Bora is very safe with low crime, but the main risks are sun exposure and the lagoon itself, currents can be stronger than they look near reef passes. Tap water isn't reliably potable, stick to bottled or filtered water for mixing formula.

🏥Hospitals

There's only a small local infirmary on Bora Bora itself; anything beyond minor issues means a medevac flight to Tahiti's Taaone Hospital in Papeete, about 50 minutes away. Bring a well-stocked first aid kit and any regular medications, as pharmacy options on the island are limited.
