The Zona Rosa, Usaquen, and Chapinero neighborhoods have decent pavements and are the most practical areas for stroller use, though potholes and uneven curbs are common throughout the city. Bogota sits at 2,640m altitude, so budget an easy first day for adjustment. The TransMilenio bus system is crowded and not very stroller friendly; taxis or ride-hailing apps are more comfortable for families.

🍽️Food & Eating

Family bakeries (panaderias) serving arepas and pan de bono are an easy, toddler-friendly stop on nearly every corner. Chain restaurants like Crepes & Waffles are extremely popular with local families and offer kids' menus and high chairs. Tap water is generally safe in Bogota, though many visitors still opt for bottled water out of habit.

🛡️Safety

Stick to the northern neighborhoods (Zona Rosa, Usaquen, Chico) which are safer and more geared toward families; the historic La Candelaria center is worth a daytime visit but requires more vigilance. Petty theft and occasional scopolamine-related incidents are the main tourist risks, avoid accepting food or drink from strangers. Altitude can cause mild headaches or fatigue in the first day or two.

🏥Hospitals

Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota and Clinica del Country are excellent private hospitals with English-speaking pediatric specialists, both popular with international families. Pharmacies (Cruz Verde, Farmatodo) are widespread and well-stocked. Travel insurance is recommended, as private healthcare costs are significant without it.
