Beach resorts and fales along the Apia coast are relaxed with kids and can do simple grilled fish, rice, and chicken. Self-catering is straightforward too: the produce market in town sells cheap, fresh tropical fruit, though packaged baby food is limited to what supermarkets stock.

Samoa is a genuinely friendly, low-crime destination for families, and Samoans are used to seeing children everywhere. The bigger safety consideration is water: many beaches have no lifeguards and strong currents near reef breaks, so stick to calm lagoon areas with young kids.

🏥Hospitals

Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Apia handles routine care but has limited specialist capacity, so anything serious usually means transfer to New Zealand. Bring a basic medical kit and any regular medications, as pharmacy stock outside the capital is thin.
