🚼Pram
The waterfront promenade from Oriental Bay to Te Papa museum is flat, wide, and one of the best stroller routes in the country, but Wellington itself is famously hilly, so side streets away from the waterfront can involve steep climbs. The cable car is a fun, easy way to reach the Botanic Garden without the hill walk.
🍽️Food & Eating
Wellington's café culture is excellent for families, with high chairs standard and a huge range of casual options around Cuba Street and the waterfront. Te Papa museum's cafes are a convenient, toddler friendly break during a museum visit.
🛡️Safety
A very safe capital city with low crime. Wellington is famously windy, which can make stroller walks along the exposed waterfront tiring on a blustery day, so a carrier is a useful backup.
🏥Hospitals
Wellington Regional Hospital has a full emergency department and paediatric services. Pharmacies are readily available throughout the compact city centre.
