Brisbane is flat, modern, and extremely stroller friendly, with the South Bank Parklands and riverside CityCat ferry network making it easy to get around with young kids. Pavements are wide and well maintained throughout the CBD and inner suburbs. The free CityHopper ferry is a favorite with toddlers and a genuinely useful way to cross the river.

🍽️Food & Eating

Australian cafe culture is strong here, and most cafes and restaurants have high chairs, kids' menus, and are genuinely welcoming of young families. South Bank and West End have a huge range of casual, family-friendly dining options. Tap water is safe to drink throughout the city.

🛡️Safety

Brisbane is a very safe, laid-back city well suited to family travel, with low crime rates in the areas visitors frequent. The main practical concern is sun exposure, Queensland's UV levels are high year-round, so hats and sunscreen are non-negotiable. Standard water safety applies at South Bank's man-made beach and any river or bay swimming spots.

🏥Hospitals

Queensland Children's Hospital is a dedicated pediatric hospital with excellent facilities, and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital handles broader emergencies. English is the primary language, so communication is never a barrier. Pharmacies are on nearly every corner and well stocked with familiar international brands.
