🚼Pram
Valencia is genuinely pram-friendly: the old Turia riverbed has been converted into a 9km linear park with completely flat smooth paths that are perfect for pram walks. The beach (La Malvarrosa) has a wide promenade. The metro has good lift access.
🍽️Food & Eating
Valencia is the home of paella and the food culture here centres on relaxed family lunches. Children are welcomed enthusiastically everywhere. The Central Market is brilliant for toddlers to explore with fresh fruit, olives, and bread. Spanish dining times (lunch 2–4pm, dinner 9–11pm) require adjustment for young children.
🛡️Safety
Very safe and notably less touristy than Barcelona: petty theft is less of an issue here. The beaches are excellent for families with calm Mediterranean water. Summer temperatures (July–August) peak at 34°C+ which limits midday outdoor time for young children.
🏥Hospitals
Hospital La Fe (Valencia's main children's hospital) is excellent. The private Hospital Quirónsalud Valencia has English-speaking staff and handles tourist medical needs with paediatric consultations available.
