As one of China's newest and most planned cities, Shenzhen has wide, modern pavements and a very stroller-friendly metro with lifts at nearly every station. The OCT theme park cluster (Window of the World, Happy Valley, Splendid China) is purpose-built and easy to navigate with a buggy.

🍽️Food & Eating

Shenzhen's malls and OCT-Loft dining areas cater well to international visitors, with high chairs and mild options like noodles and rice widely available. Mobile payment via Alipay or WeChat Pay is essential to set up before arrival, since cash is rarely used.

🛡️Safety

Shenzhen is a modern, safe city with low crime and excellent infrastructure. As elsewhere on the mainland, download a VPN and offline maps before you go since Google Maps and WhatsApp don't work locally.

🏥Hospitals

Shenzhen Hong Kong University Hospital is a strong choice for English-speaking pediatric care, being partly modeled on Hong Kong's healthcare system. Shenzhen Children's Hospital offers excellent specialist care with more limited English.
