πΌPram
Central Hiroshima is flat and easy to navigate, with wide pavements around the Peace Memorial Park and tram stops that mostly have step-free access. The ferry to Miyajima Island is stroller-friendly, but the island's shrine approach has some uneven stone paths, and the ropeway up Mount Misen isn't practical with a pram.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (savory pancakes cooked on a griddle in front of you) is a fun, casual meal for kids, served in family-friendly okonomiyaki halls with table seating. Standard family chains and convenience stores fill in the gaps for quick toddler meals.
π‘οΈSafety
Hiroshima is very safe with low crime and drinkable tap water. The Peace Memorial Museum's exhibits are intense and not really suited to toddlers, so most families with young kids stick to the park's green spaces and monuments rather than the museum itself. Miyajima's deer, like Nara's, can nip at food held by small children.
π₯Hospitals
Hiroshima University Hospital and Hiroshima City Hospital handle serious cases, with English support similar to other regional Japanese cities (limited outside major departments). Pharmacies in the Hondori shopping arcade are convenient for everyday toddler supplies.
