Parent Tips

🚼Pram

Sedona's main shopping areas in Uptown and Tlaquepaque are paved and manageable, but the red rock trails that are the main attraction are uneven and unsuitable for strollers, so a hiking carrier is the better choice for exploring. Bell Rock Pathway is one of the flatter, more accessible trails.

🍽️Food & Eating

Casual spots like the Coffee Pot Restaurant and Wildflower Bread Company have high chairs and kids' menus, and picnic supplies are easy to find for trailside lunches. Most restaurants are relaxed about kids given the outdoorsy crowd.

πŸ›‘οΈSafety

Sedona is very safe from a crime perspective, but heat, sun exposure, and dehydration are real risks on trails, especially May through September, so plan hikes for early morning. The famous red rocks also mean sudden drop-offs, so keep toddlers close on viewpoints.

πŸ₯Hospitals

Sedona has an urgent care clinic, but the nearest full hospital is Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, about 20 minutes away, or Flagstaff Medical Center about 45 minutes north. Pack a basic first-aid kit given the distance to bigger facilities.
