Castries itself and beachfront resort strips like Rodney Bay are flatter and more manageable. A structured carrier is worth packing for excursions regardless of where you stay.

Resorts and Rodney Bay's restaurants are used to families, with high chairs and kids' menus common. Local dishes like grilled plantain and saltfish are mild enough to share. Bottled water is the standard choice for young kids.

🛡️Safety

Resort areas around Rodney Bay and the main tourist zones feel safe and relaxed for families, with a visible tourist police presence. As with much of the Caribbean, it's best to stick to well-known areas after dark and use resort or registered transport. Currents and reef conditions vary by beach, ask locally before letting toddlers swim unsupervised.

🏥Hospitals

Tapion Hospital in Castries is the main private option, with St Jude Hospital serving as the public facility further south. English-speaking care is standard given Saint Lucia's status as a former British colony, though pediatric specialists are limited, so confirm evacuation coverage for anything serious.
