Sao Paulo's core neighborhoods (Jardins, Pinheiros, Vila Madalena) have decent sidewalks by Brazilian standards, though cracked pavement and steep sections crop up often. Parque Ibirapuera, the city's big green space, has smooth paved paths ideal for a stroller. The metro has elevators at most central stations, useful for longer days out.

🍽️Food & Eating

Sao Paulo has an enormous, cosmopolitan food scene, and family restaurants in Jardins and Pinheiros are used to kids, with pizza (a local specialty) an easy crowd-pleaser. Shopping mall food courts are a practical, air-conditioned option with high chairs and varied choices. Stick to bottled water.

🛡️Safety

Central, affluent neighborhoods like Jardins and Pinheiros feel comfortable for families during the day, with a visible security presence. Sao Paulo has higher crime rates than the tourist core suggests, so avoid unfamiliar areas, keep valuables out of sight, and use rideshare rather than walking after dark. Traffic is intense, hold hands firmly near roads.

🏥Hospitals

Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and Hospital Sirio-Libanes are world-class private hospitals with English-speaking staff and excellent pediatric care, among the best in Latin America. Pharmacies are abundant throughout the city. Comprehensive travel insurance covering private care is essential, as these hospitals are excellent but expensive without it.
