Downtown Nassau's sidewalks are narrow and uneven in places, especially around Bay Street, but the main resort areas (Cable Beach, Paradise Island) have smooth paths built for tourists. Atlantis and other big resorts are entirely stroller-friendly with ramps and elevators throughout. A lightweight stroller works better than an off-road one given the mix of terrain.

🍽️Food & Eating

Resorts and Cable Beach restaurants cater well to kids with high chairs and simple menus. Conch fritters and mac and cheese (a Bahamian staple) are easy wins for pickier eaters. Tap water is generally safe in tourist areas, but bottled is an easy default.

🛡️Safety

Resort areas and Cable Beach feel safe and family-friendly, but downtown Nassau and some outer neighborhoods have higher rates of petty and occasionally violent crime, so stick to well-trafficked tourist zones and take taxis after dark. Ocean currents can be strong at open beaches away from resort swim areas. Sun protection matters year-round.

🏥Hospitals

Doctors Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital both handle tourist cases, with Doctors Hospital generally preferred for its shorter waits and English-speaking private care. Pharmacies are easy to find in resort areas and downtown. Confirm travel insurance, as private care costs add up quickly.
