🚼Pram
Miami Beach's Ocean Drive and the Boardwalk are flat and excellent for prams. The Design District and Wynwood have good footpaths. Getting between areas requires a car: Miami is not a walkable city beyond neighbourhood-level. Most beaches have flat, packed sand good for pram wheels near the waterline.
🍽️Food & Eating
Miami's Cuban and international food culture is very toddler-friendly: Cuban food (picadillo, rice and beans, tostones) is mild, affordable, and available everywhere. The beach club and brunch culture is relaxed about children. Little Havana is a wonderful culinary experience for families.
🛡️Safety
Safe in tourist areas (South Beach, Wynwood, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove). Avoid Little Haiti, Liberty City, and Overtown especially after dark. Hurricane season (June–November) requires monitoring the NOAA forecast. Heat and humidity June–September are intense: plan outdoor time carefully for babies.
🏥Hospitals
Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami is one of the US's top dedicated children's hospitals. Jackson Memorial and Mount Sinai Medical Center Miami Beach also have strong paediatric emergency departments. Travel insurance covering US medical costs is absolutely essential.
