🚼Pram
Milan is flatter and more modern than most Italian cities, with a metro system that's largely accessible and wide pavements in the city centre around the Duomo and Brera. It's a far easier stroller city than Venice or Florence.
🍽️Food & Eating
Milan has a huge range of family restaurants, from casual pizzerias to aperitivo bars with buffet spreads that work well for grazing with kids. High chairs are standard at most mid-range restaurants. Supermarkets (Esselunga, Carrefour) are well stocked with baby food and formula.
🛡️Safety
Milan is generally safe for families, with normal big-city caution advised around the main station (Centrale) and on crowded trams. Tap water is safe and actually good quality, drawn from local aquifers. Traffic is busier than in smaller Italian cities, so stick to pavements and crossings.
🏥Hospitals
Ospedale dei Bambini Vittore Buzzi is a dedicated children's hospital with a strong reputation. Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico also has pediatric emergency services. Pharmacies are widespread and many staff in the city centre speak some English.
