Menorca is flatter and quieter than its Balearic neighbours, with easy pram access around Mahon's harbour and the promenades of Cala Galdana and Son Bou. The Cami de Cavalls coastal path is scenic but rocky in places, so it suits an all-terrain buggy better than a compact stroller.

Restaurants across the island are used to families, with early dinner sittings (7-8pm) common at resort areas unlike mainland Spain's late hours. Local specialties like caldereta de langosta are pricier, but simple bocadillos, tortilla and pizza are everywhere. Supermarkets stock a good range of baby supplies.

🛡️Safety

Menorca is one of the calmest, safest islands in Spain, with low crime and a slower pace than Ibiza or Mallorca. Tap water is safe to drink. The main risks are sun exposure at the island's many exposed beaches and strong currents on the wilder north coast, so stick to lifeguarded beaches like Son Bou with toddlers.

🏥Hospitals

Hospital Mateu Orfila in Mao (Mahon) is the island's main hospital with an emergency department, though English support can be limited. Smaller health centres in resort towns handle minor issues. It's worth carrying travel insurance details, as the island's medical infrastructure is modest compared to mainland Spain.
