Parent Tips

🚼Pram

Mahe is hilly and the famous beaches (Beau Vallon, Anse Royale) often have granite boulders and soft sand rather than paved promenades, so a stroller has limited use outside resort grounds. A carrier or all-terrain buggy works much better for exploring beyond the hotel.

🍽️Food & Eating

Resort restaurants across Mahe are well set up for families with high chairs and simple menus, and fresh seafood is easy to find everywhere. Victoria's market is a good spot for fresh tropical fruit, though packaged baby food selection is limited, so bring what you rely on.

πŸ›‘οΈSafety

The Seychelles is calm, low-crime, and genuinely welcoming to families, one of the safer long-haul destinations on this list. Currents can be strong around some of the more exposed beaches, so ask locally about the calmest spots for young swimmers.

πŸ₯Hospitals

Seychelles Hospital in Victoria handles routine and emergency care but has limited specialist capacity, so anything complex typically means a medevac to Mauritius or further afield. Good travel insurance with evacuation cover is strongly recommended given how remote the islands are.
