The main square and Tivoli Park have smooth paths, though the climb up to Ljubljana Castle is steep (a stroller-accessible funicular covers that part). Buses are low-floor and reliable.

Slovenians are relaxed about children in restaurants, and riverside cafes along the Ljubljanica are happy to seat families outside. Odprta Kuhna (Open Kitchen), the Friday street food market, is a fun, casual option with lots of variety for picky eaters.

Slovenia consistently ranks among the safest countries in Europe, and Ljubljana's center feels comfortable to walk at any hour. Tap water is safe and genuinely good, locals are proud of it. The main thing to plan around is that many shops close on Sundays.
