Livingstone town is manageable on foot with mostly flat streets, but like the Zimbabwean side, the falls' rainforest trails are wet and uneven, making a carrier the better choice for that visit. Lodges along the Zambezi tend to have flat, golf-cart-friendly grounds.

Riverside lodges and the town's restaurants cater well to international visitors with familiar options like pizza and grilled chicken alongside Zambian dishes such as nshima. Stock up on snacks in town before heading to more remote riverside lodges where menus are more limited.

🛡️Safety

Livingstone is generally safe and welcoming, though it shares the malaria risk of the wider Zambezi region, so mosquito precautions matter for young kids. Hippos and elephants are common near the river, and lodges brief guests carefully on evening safety around unfenced properties.

🏥Hospitals
