Kotor's walled Old Town is entirely cobblestone and largely pedestrian only, which makes a stroller genuinely hard work: a soft carrier is the better choice for exploring the alleys and the climb up the fortress walls. Outside the walls, the coastal road and waterfront promenade toward Dobrota are flatter and easier to push a pram along.

🍽️Food & Eating

Waterfront restaurants around the Old Town harbor are used to tourist families and typically have simple grilled fish, pasta, and pizza for kids. Small local konoba (taverns) are relaxed about children even without a dedicated kids' menu. A supermarket just outside the town walls covers basics like formula and snacks.

🛡️Safety

Kotor is a safe, low-crime town, though the Old Town's uneven stone streets and unguarded fortress walls need active supervision with toddlers. Summer heat (often above 30C) is the bigger practical risk, so plan outdoor time for morning or early evening. Tap water is safe to drink.

🏥Hospitals

Kotor has a general hospital, but for serious pediatric care families typically head to Podgorica (about an hour away) or across the border to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Pharmacies in town are well stocked for everyday needs like fever medicine and sun protection. Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is a sensible precaution given the limited local specialist care.
