Koh Lanta is one of the least stroller-friendly islands in this guide: roads outside the main resort strips are unpaved or sandy, and pavements are minimal, so a carrier is far more practical than wheels for most of a stay. Resort grounds themselves are usually flat and easy to manage.

🍽️Food & Eating

The island has a relaxed, low key restaurant scene along Long Beach and Klong Dao, with plenty of places used to serving young children simple rice, noodle, or fruit plates. It's quieter and less commercial than Phuket or Samui, so options thin out compared to bigger islands, but what's there is welcoming.

🛡️Safety

Koh Lanta is calm and low-crime, with a slower pace than Thailand's bigger resort islands. The bridge connecting the island to the mainland has made access easier and more reliable than the old car ferry crossing. Some beaches have stronger currents during the May to October monsoon, so check conditions before swimming with a toddler.

🏥Hospitals

Lanta Hospital on the island handles everyday issues, but it's a smaller facility, and anything serious means a transfer to Krabi Town, around one and a half to two hours away by road. Pack a well-stocked first aid kit and confirm your resort's medical transfer plan before you arrive.
