Parent Tips

🚼Pram

Ao Nang's main beachfront promenade is paved and stroller friendly, but many of Krabi's best beaches, including Railay, are only reachable by longtail boat with no stroller access, so a baby carrier is essential for exploring beyond the main strip. Pavements in Krabi Town itself are patchy.

🍽️Food & Eating

Ao Nang and Krabi Town both have a good spread of family restaurants used to tourists, with high chairs and simple rice or noodle dishes for fussy eaters. Fresh seafood is excellent and usually can be cooked mild on request. Convenience stores are common for formula, snacks, and emergency supplies.

πŸ›‘οΈSafety

Krabi is generally safe and welcoming to families, though the karst cliffs and boat transfers mean extra care around water and slippery rocks with a toddler in tow. Life jackets are provided on longtail boats, but always double check the fit for small children. Rainy season, roughly May to October, brings rougher seas and occasional trip cancellations.

πŸ₯Hospitals

Krabi Nakharin International Hospital in Krabi Town has English-speaking staff and handles most tourist medical needs, with more advanced care available in Phuket around two hours away by road. Pharmacies in Ao Nang are well stocked for common toddler ailments like fevers or stomach upsets.
