The Old City is cobblestone, stepped, and largely off-limits to strollers, a carrier is essential there. Newer West Jerusalem neighborhoods like the German Colony and the light rail route along Jaffa Road are much flatter and easier to navigate with a buggy.

Jerusalem's food scene is excellent for families, from Mahane Yehuda Market's casual stalls to sit-down restaurants that are used to children. Supermarkets stock familiar Israeli and international baby food brands, and note that many restaurants close for Shabbat from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening.

Jerusalem requires more situational awareness than most destinations on this list, given the ongoing regional security and political situation, check current government travel advisories before booking and stay alert to your surroundings, particularly near the Old City and religious sites. That said, day-to-day petty crime is low and most visits pass without incident.

🏥Hospitals

Hadassah Medical Center is a world-class hospital with excellent pediatric care and English-speaking staff. Pharmacies (Super-Pharm) are widespread and well-stocked with international brands.
