Gothenburg is flatter and less crowded than Stockholm, with wide avenues like Avenyn and step-free access at most tram stops. Liseberg amusement park and the Universeum science centre both have excellent pram parking and baby-change facilities built for family visits. The old fishing harbor areas have some cobbles, but nothing a standard stroller can't handle.

🍽️Food & Eating

Gothenburg's food scene is casual and family-friendly, especially around Haga and Linne where cafes routinely have high chairs and children's portions. Fisktorget and the Feskekorka fish market are fun, low-pressure stops with simple food a toddler will actually eat. Swedish supermarkets (ICA, Coop) are well stocked for self-catering if you're staying in an apartment.

A calm, low-crime city where locals are used to seeing prams parked outside cafes while parents step inside. Tap water is safe and high quality everywhere. The main seasonal hazard is icy pavements in winter, so a spring or summer visit avoids that entirely.

🏥Hospitals

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Scandinavia and has a dedicated children's unit with English-speaking doctors. Pharmacies are easy to find in the central shopping streets, and over-the-counter children's medicine is straightforward to buy.
