The West End and city centre around Buchanan Street are largely flat and pedestrianised, easy for strollers, and Kelvingrove Art Gallery, the Riverside Museum, and the Science Centre all have step-free access and lifts. The subway has limited step-free stations, so check ahead if you plan to use it with a buggy.

🍽️Food & Eating

Glasgow has a strong casual dining scene, from family-run Italian cafes on the West End's Byres Road to city centre chains, most with high chairs and kids' menus without needing to ask. Glaswegians are famously warm toward children, so a fussy toddler rarely draws stares.

🛡️Safety

Glasgow's main tourist areas (West End, Merchant City, city centre) are safe and well-populated with families, and tap water is safe to drink. As with any big city, keep valuables close in busy areas like Buchanan Street, particularly on weekend evenings.

🏥Hospitals

The Royal Hospital for Children, next to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, is a dedicated children's hospital with an emergency department. Pharmacies are widely available across the city centre and West End.
