The Main Town (Glowne Miasto) is largely pedestrianised with wide, well-kept streets along Dluga and Dlugi Targ, making it easy stroller territory. The nearby beach resort of Sopot, a short train ride away, adds a long wooden pier and flat promenade that's just as manageable.

Restaurants along the Main Town's central streets are used to tourists and families, with pierogi and simple soups being easy wins for toddlers. Sopot and the Gdansk waterfront have plenty of casual, outdoor-seating spots where a restless toddler is less of an issue.

🛡️Safety

Gdansk is a safe, relaxed city with low crime, and the historic centre feels comfortable to wander with young kids even in the evening. Tap water is generally safe, though many locals use filters. The Baltic Sea water stays cool even in summer, so supervise closely if letting toddlers paddle at the beach.
