πΌPram
Edinburgh's Old Town has steep, cobblestoned Royal Mile and numerous stairways that are genuinely difficult with a pram: Victoria Street and the closes off the Royal Mile require a carrier. The New Town, Princes Street Gardens, and the Scottish National Museum area are pram-friendly.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Edinburgh has excellent family-friendly options including the world's most famous shortbread and a growing food market scene. Scottish breakfast, fish and chips, and haggis (for the adventurous toddler) are reliable classics. Most cafes and casual restaurants have high chairs.
π‘οΈSafety
Very safe with very low crime. The Scottish weather is unpredictable year-round: a waterproof rain cover for the pram and layers for the baby are essential every day. Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat require carriers for most of the interesting areas.
π₯Hospitals
Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh opened in 2021 and is Scotland's main dedicated children's hospital: excellent emergency capability. NHS provides free emergency care to all visitors.
