Cardiff Bay's waterfront and the pedestrianised city centre around Queen Street are flat, wide, and stroller-friendly, with lifts at the main museums and the castle grounds. Bute Park, right next to the castle, has smooth paths that make for an easy stroll or picnic stop.

Cardiff Bay and the St David's shopping centre have a good spread of family chains (Wagamama, Franco Manca, Bill's) with high chairs and kids' menus. The indoor Cardiff Market and nearby arcades are good wet-weather lunch stops, since Wales sees its share of rain.

🛡️Safety

Cardiff is a compact, walkable capital with low rates of violent crime in the areas families visit (Bay, castle, city centre), and it feels comfortable pushing a stroller after dark along the main routes. Tap water is safe to drink throughout.

🏥Hospitals

The Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales, part of the University Hospital of Wales, is one of the UK's dedicated paediatric hospitals and is a short drive from the city centre. Pharmacies are widely available in the centre and Bay area.
