Bratislava's Old Town is compact and largely pedestrianized, with smooth paved streets that work well for a stroller, though a few side lanes are cobbled. The riverside promenade along the Danube is flat and popular with local families for walks and scooters. Trams and buses are mostly low-floor.

🍽️Food & Eating

Slovak restaurants are generally welcoming to children, and casual spots around Hviezdoslavovo námestie have outdoor seating that's easy with a stroller in tow. Supermarkets like Tesco and Billa are well stocked for formula, snacks, and baby food. Portions tend to be generous, so sharing an adult dish with a toddler is common practice.

🛡️Safety

Bratislava is a low-crime, easygoing capital that feels comfortable to walk with kids, including in the evening around the main squares. Tap water is safe to drink. The steep, cobbled paths up to Bratislava Castle are the main physical hazard to watch for with early walkers.

🏥Hospitals

The National Institute of Children's Diseases (Národný ústav detských chorôb) is the main pediatric hospital, with some English-speaking staff, particularly among younger doctors. Pharmacies (lekáreň) are common in the center and carry standard children's medicine. Travel insurance is still worth having, since English fluency isn't universal at the front desk.
