This is one of the most stroller-unfriendly regions in Europe: towns like Positano and Amalfi are built on cliffsides with hundreds of steps and no flat streets, and the coastal road (SS163) is a narrow, winding hairpin route. A sturdy carrier is essential, and a stroller is close to useless outside hotel grounds.

🍽️Food & Eating

Restaurants throughout the coast are used to tourists and generally accommodating to children, with pasta, pizza and fresh seafood easy to find. Views often come with a premium price tag, so casual family spots in Praiano or Minori tend to be more relaxed, and cheaper, than Positano's clifftop restaurants.

🛡️Safety

The Amalfi Coast is safe from a crime perspective, but the physical environment carries real risks: steep drops, narrow roads with no pavement in places, and boat transfers between towns. Tap water is generally safe in hotels, though some prefer bottled given the region's mountain water sources.

🏥Hospitals

The nearest hospitals with full emergency departments are in Salerno (Ospedale San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona) or Naples, roughly 45 to 90 minutes by road depending on traffic. Smaller guardia medica (first-aid points) exist in Amalfi and Positano for minor issues, so it's worth locating one on arrival.
