Central Tirana around Skanderbeg Square and the pedestrianized Pyramid area is flat and open, but pavements elsewhere are uneven, often blocked by parked cars, and curb cuts are rare. Grand Park (Parku i Madh) has smooth paths around the artificial lake and is a good spot to let toddlers roam.

The American Hospital in Tirana is the go-to for tourists needing pediatric or urgent care, with English-speaking doctors and modern facilities. Public hospitals exist but are best avoided for anything beyond an emergency, due to language barriers and under-resourcing. Pharmacies are common in the centre and can help with everyday needs like fever medicine, though brand names may differ from home.
