Fethiye is a working harbour town rather than a polished resort, and the old bazaar streets are uneven and hilly, so a carrier is more practical there. The harbor promenade itself is flat and pleasant for a stroller. Most families base themselves in nearby Oludeniz or Calis Beach, both of which have flat beachfront paths and are much easier going than the town centre.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Fethiye's fish market lets you pick fresh fish and have it grilled at a surrounding restaurant, a fun and flexible option if a toddler is fussy about what's on offer. Turkish breakfast spreads (kahvalti) are mild, varied and popular with young kids. Away from the main tourist strip, English menus are less common, so a translation app helps.
π‘οΈSafety
A generally safe, laid-back town with low crime, popular with British families in particular. Avoid tap water, bottled water is cheap and widely available. Summer heat is intense and the coastal road can be winding, so factor in extra time and shade breaks when travelling with a toddler.
π₯Hospitals
Fethiye State Hospital handles emergencies and has pediatric care, though English is more limited than in the bigger resort towns, private clinics nearby generally have better language support. Pharmacies (eczane) are found throughout the town centre.
