The town centre and the coastal walk linking Town Beach, Flynn's Beach, and the breakwall are flat, sealed, and very stroller friendly, with plenty of shaded rest points. Koala Hospital's boardwalk is also step-free and a popular short outing.

Foreshore cafes and family restaurants around the marina and Town Green are relaxed and well equipped with high chairs. Supermarkets are central and easy to reach for families self catering in holiday apartments.

🛡️Safety

A quiet, low crime coastal town with patrolled beaches at Town Beach and Flynn's Beach. The main thing to watch is surf conditions on unpatrolled stretches, and to keep an eye out for the occasional koala crossing quiet roads.

Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a well equipped regional hospital with an emergency department used to treating families. Pharmacies are plentiful in the town centre and nearby shopping precincts.
