πΌPram
Canberra is a planned, spread out city built around lakes and wide boulevards, so pavements are smooth and generous but distances between sights are long. A car or the light rail is more practical than walking everywhere with a stroller, though the museums and Lake Burley Griffin foreshore paths are all flat and easy.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Cafes and family bistros around Kingston Foreshore, Braddon, and the city centre almost all have high chairs and kids' menus. The National Museum of Australia and War Memorial cafes are reliably toddler friendly, and Woolworths/Coles supermarkets make self catering simple if you're staying in an apartment.
π‘οΈSafety
One of the safest cities in Australia with very low crime, wide open green spaces, and easy tap water. The main hazard is summer heat and occasional bushfire smoke haze in nearby hills during dry months, so check air quality forecasts if visiting December through February.
π₯Hospitals
Canberra Hospital and Calvary Public Hospital both have emergency departments used to treating young children, and the National Capital Private Hospital offers additional options. Pharmacies (chemists) are widespread across suburban shopping centres for everyday medicine needs.
