πΌPram
Within resort island grounds: which are flat, sandy, and compact: prams work well for nap time and resort movement. The experience is almost entirely resort-based: most families won't need a pram for sightseeing since activities are water-based. Male city has some footpaths but most guests never leave their resort island.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Most Maldives travel is all-inclusive resort-based which provides excellent buffet dining with toddler-friendly options. Resort kitchens accommodate any dietary need with advance notice. The natural diet of fresh fish and tropical fruit is genuinely excellent. Budget is the main challenge: everything is very expensive.
π‘οΈSafety
Extremely safe in resort islands. The ocean is the main hazard: house reef edges drop to very deep water immediately and children must be supervised at all times around water. Speedboat transfers between islands require safety briefings and children's life jackets.
π₯Hospitals
Medical care in the Maldives is very limited outside Male. Serious cases (anything beyond minor injuries and illness) are evacuated by seaplane to Male's ADK Hospital or directly to India or Sri Lanka. Travel insurance with air evacuation cover is essential: this is non-negotiable for families.
