πΌPram
Lombok is not stroller-friendly outside a handful of resort areas: roads are often unpaved, pavements are rare, and much of the appeal (waterfalls, rice terraces, Rinjani's foothills) involves walking on uneven natural terrain. A carrier is essential, and this is better suited to families with toddlers who are confident walkers.
π½οΈFood & Eating
Resort areas like Senggigi and the Gili Islands (reached by boat) have relaxed cafes used to tourists, but options thin out quickly once you're off the main strips. Pack some familiar snacks, as fewer places offer the picture menus and high chairs you'd find in Bali.
π‘οΈSafety
Lombok is calm and low-crime, with a slower, less developed feel than Bali. Roads can be rough and poorly lit, so avoid unnecessary night driving, and the Gili Islands (no motor vehicles) require boat transfers that are worth timing carefully with a toddler. Sun and heat are the main everyday hazard.
π₯Hospitals
Healthcare infrastructure is more limited than Bali: the main hospital, RSUD Provinsi NTB in Mataram, handles serious cases, but many families prefer to fly to Bali (around 25 minutes) for anything beyond minor issues. Travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is worth having here.
