Being duty-free, Langkawi's restaurants and resorts cater well to international visitors, with high chairs and kids' menus standard at hotel restaurants. Underwater World and the Pantai Cenang strip both have casual, familiar food options for fussy eaters.

🛡️Safety

Langkawi is calm and low-crime, popular with families precisely because it's less hectic than mainland Malaysia. Sun protection and rip currents at less sheltered beaches are the main hazards to plan around, so stick to lifeguarded stretches with young kids.

🏥Hospitals

Langkawi Hospital covers routine needs but is a fairly basic public facility, and KPJ Langkawi Specialist Hospital offers private care. Anything serious is generally referred to Penang, about 30 to 40 minutes by air, so travel insurance with medevac cover is worth having.
