The lakefront promenades in towns like Riva del Garda, Sirmione and Bardolino are flat, scenic and genuinely excellent for strollers. Gardaland and the area's other theme parks also rent strollers on-site, so there's no need to bring your own for park days.

🍽️Food & Eating

This is one of Italy's most family-tuned regions, with pizzerias, gelaterias and casual trattorias throughout the lakeside towns all well used to children. High chairs and kids' menus are standard, especially in resort towns like Peschiera del Garda. Supermarkets are plentiful and well stocked.

🛡️Safety

Lake Garda is very safe and one of Italy's most established family holiday regions. Tap water is safe to drink. The lake itself is deep close to shore in places, so use designated lido swimming areas with shallow, roped-off sections for toddlers.

🏥Hospitals

Ospedale di Desenzano del Garda covers the southern lake with an emergency department, and smaller clinics are dotted around the northern towns. Private clinics near the theme parks are used to tourist families. Pharmacies are easy to find in every lakeside town.
